Do you really think that's true? Many men have been unable to keep their minds, but there are some out there who have the willpower necessary to combat a rasetsu's madness... Don't you think a person like Okita Souji could manage that much?
[which is kind of the truth! he expects Okita to be able to outlast anyone with a weaker will, anyway, even if he thinks it's pretty inevitable that the onset of bloodlust will happen eventually. all the better for him, since he'll be able to enjoy Okita's struggle much longer if he doesn't give in right away. win-win!]
