Shinpachi's the kind of moron who doesn't understand this stuff until it's pointed out to him, so he glances down to her clothes, and.. well.. they're tighter (in a sense) than the ones he's used to seeing on girls, okay!! So there may actually be the faintest blush on his face before he looks away.

So he's probably carrying three bags in each hand at this point as she walks ahead. She's absolutely giddy, practically skipping down the street before she finally stops in front of another store. ]

[ Yep that sure is a men's clothing store. Are you prepared to say goodbye to your muscles, Shinpachi? ]

[ No, this is the moment he's been dreading.. he could bear being dragged into tons of different clothing stores. He could bear watching her try on stuff and trying to ~~hide his boner~~ not blush at all times. He could handle carrying all her stuff. No problem.

He texted Sano in the meantime and none of that helped either, thanks, Sano.. "compromise", he said.. what part about this is compromising, he can't help but think as he stares at the storefront?! ]

[ It takes her a moment, a few seconds to realize that this was all a reality. That she was already in the store with Shinpachi following behind, already picking something out for him, and was trying to register if he just used her name and the word "wife" in the same sentence. ]

Your.. wife. [ She can feel her heart racing, and before she can think twice she's already turning slightly enough to elbow him right in the stomach. ] It's not! So don't go around saying it like that!

[ Now this is something even a vigilant Shinsengumi captain like Shinpachi didn't see coming.. he just sees her turn a little, but that much doesn't raise his suspicion. Not until her elbow is promptly buried into his stomach, and his eyes grow wide at the realisation as he wheezes for the air he's lost. ]

If Shinpachi's complaining then it's going in one ear and out the other as she picks out a few clothes for him. Specifically shirts that will cover up his pride. ] Have you ever worn a pair of jeans before?

[ She's guessing not but who.. knows..

does he even know how jeans work how is she going to do this lord almighty. ]

[ God, maybe Sano was right after all.. maybe he really is whipped, who knows. It's not like he's doing this consciously though, it's more just that he can't say anything back to her since she won't let him?!

(That's exactly what being whipped means, Shinpachi.)

Which means he can't do anything but sulk as she's picking out clothes for him like that.. he occasionally sneaks a glance in her direction, just to make sure she isn't doing anything too weird, but that's all the protest he can give.. ]

[ Yeah, he has no idea what jeans even are, judging by the look on his face. ]

You can see my clothes, yeah? I've been wearing stuff like this all my life, we didn't have any of that western stuff back home. [ Aka he's never heard of buttons or zippers either.. good luck, Leanne. ]

It's not hard, you'll be fine. [ She's just going to throw that out there beforehand, in case everything just goes from bad to worse. (But let's just admit it, it's things getting worse is completely unavoidable.) ]

[ It's not like he has much of a choice in the matter here when she's already ushering him to the dressing room, so that's where they end up ~~to have wild sex~~.

Not that he still doesn't look a little defeated though.. this is it, this is the moment he's well and truly going to have to say goodbye to his manly pride.

[ And with a sigh he's disappearing into the dressing room. The sounds that follow aren't.. too great.. apparently it isn't going too well, but at least he does emerge after a few moments so she can see how it looks on him.

.. except the concept of buttons and zippers is completely lost on him, so his shirt is hanging open, completely bearing the muscles underneath for everyone to see, and he didn't zip up the crotch of his pants either.. whoops, at least he's wearing underwear. The rest would be more of a problem to Shinpachi if he had an actual idea of modesty. Because he seems pretty casual about his state of half-undress in front of her, just idly scratching the back of his head as he waits for her to speak up. ]

[ Leanne is actually in the process of almost sending an emergency text to Sano in case Shinpachi accidentally broke something while in there, only to stop halfway when she hears him coming out of the dressing room. She lifts her head and almost immediately she wishes she didn't. ]

.. What.. [ She rises from her seat, brows furrowed. ] What the heck!?

[ And immediately she's pushing him back inside the dressing room, and hell she even accompanies him. ]

What are you doing coming out when you're not even dressed!? This was to hide your chest. Hide it. [ She gestures to his chest. ] Not doing the buttons isn't hiding it!

[ She breathes, her face completely red to the point where even her ears have a hint of color. ]

Don't tell me you don't know how to.

[ And that sounds more like an order than anything else. ]

[ He's probably sputtering as he's pulled back in, the casual attitude from a moment ago totally gone. It's since he's surprised, okay - he didn't think he was doing anything wrong in particular, but now he's getting this sort of reaction from her?! Sometimes he really doesn't understand Leanne...

.. or maybe that just goes for girls in general, huh.

In fact he hardly even gets it when she's rambling to him in the dressing room. Sure, he understands what she's saying, but.. when he looks down at her and notices just how red her face is..

[ It better be a mix of both, but the look she gives him aims to have him more worried than surprised. ]

[ The irritation is clear in her voice, brows furrowing as her hands are already busy with buttoning up his shirt. ] You can't even do this.. make sure you're watching so I don't have to do it again, alright?

[ Like a mother scolding her child, really. ]

Even if you don't wear clothes like this back home, it's good to know how to at least on while you're here. You can't just keep wearing the same thing over and over again.

[ Once she's done buttoning his shirt all there's left is zipping up his pants which.. causes her to hesitate. She scoffs, hoping that the obvious signs of irritation makes Shinpachi oblivious to how she's blushing enough to make her ears red. ] This is simple, too, see..

[ Zipper up. Buttoned. Done. ]

[ He's just staring at her the entire time she's working on his clothes and rambling on.. but honestly, the words aren't reaching his ears, he's not doing much listening here. Instead he's focusing on the feeling of her hands buttoning up his shirt, zipping up his pants.. there's something odd about it that he can't quite place, but it takes over all of his thoughts, leaving him unable to really consider anything else.

It's only when she finishes talking that he realises that crap, he should have been paying attention, and he quickly fumbles to speak up. ]

Uh.. yeah. Of course. [ Agreeing is usually pretty safe. Sounds good, right? Yeah. Totally. ]

[ .. shit, what does he say now? ]

[ But then he mentions her face being red, and immediately she's glancing over to the mirror to see that she was indeed blushing. Even if she did feel it there to the point that it almost hurt, a part of her didn't want to believe it; she was blushing because of Shinpachi of all people. ]

There's no way I'm just imagining anything here! [ Unfortunately he has zero sense of exactly how unhelpful he's being here.. he just thinks Leanne is trying to hide the fact that something is wrong with her, and although he might let some of his friends and soldiers get away with it, girls are a different matter entirely.

So Shinpachi's already leaning a little closer to her (and winces a little, damn, these western clothes are tight and inconvenient as hell, that's for sure) with a frown to scrutinize her. ]

You got hurt pretty badly last time, maybe it's still 'cause of that. Here, lemme feel.

[ Moving his hand towards her forehead... ]

She's not doing this, she can't do this. While he's leaning closer she can feel her heart racing in her chest and it feels like it could just burst at any second, which makes matters worse when she sees his hand reaching for her forehead. ]

[ And she's quickly ducking away, taking a step back and reaching behind her for the door. One, two.. three unsuccessful tries of getting her hand on the actual door knob and she's finally rushing out and slamming it behind her. ] J-Just hurry up and get back in your clothes!

What just happened. No, seriously. What just happened. Because Shinpachi sure can't keep up with this train of thought going on here, and he just.. stares for a few moments as he watches her retreat out of the blue. It was almost like she seemed embarrassed rather than sick, considering that amount of energy she put into it, but..

Well, what does she have to be embarrassed about, nothing weird going on here, right?

Cue the long struggle with zippers and buttons by himself before they finally get back to their shopping trip, honestly.. ]
